Yearly Progress Report (June 2010)
In my opinion, I think that I have gotten a lot accomplished in portfolio this year. In the beginning of the year, I focused on architecture and did a couple of houses and buildings. From there, I moved onto working with canvas, paint and ink in the text pieces. I was able to complete 7 or 8 of these pieces just on the regular canvas. I was also able to do 4 or 5 on the stretched canvas. Even though there was not a large variety of different type of style of art work that I did, I do fell like I was able to create a good amount of art work in the last 8 or 9 months.
Progress Report #7 (May 2010)
It is the last week to do work for the art show. Right now, I am working on getting my sketchbook and artwork together for the art show. I am also going back into my artwork so i can improve on them. I have also started two new pieces on stretched canvas. So far, I have 8 pieces on the stretched canvas and 10 pieces on the regular canvas.
Progress Report #6 (May 2010)
In the past week, I have finished my 3rd piece for the marking period. I am now on the 4th piece. After I finish the 4th piece, I will probably go and revisit all the pieces from the year and see if they need any improvement. After this, if I have time, I will go continue working on the pieces on the stretched canvas. I want to atleast have 6 of the stretched canvas pieces for the art show.
Progress Report #5 (April 2010)
I have started my second piece for this marking period. My first one was on a smaller piece of stretched canvas. The second one that I am on right now is a little bit bigger. The one that I am on now, I want to finish by the end of the week. I also want to start a new piece by the end of the week. By the next progress report I want to have 3 or 4 more pieces done.
Progress Report #4(April 2010)
I am on my 14th piece. This will be the final piece that i will do on regular canvas before i start doing more pieces on stretched canvas. I think that by changing a couple of pieces onto stretched canvas, it will give my art some variety. I think that it will give more interest to the art show as well.
Progress Report #3(March 2010)
I have completed two text pieces on canvas. The original size for the first one was supposed to be a bigger piece. Because of it not working out, i was able to cut it down to create a smaller piece. I also finished another one. At this point I have 13 text pieces done. I have 11 pieces that are on regular canvas and 2 that are on stretched canvas. I want to finish the marking period with the regular canvas and than start using more stretched canvas.
Progress report #2 (February 2010)
This was the last week that I spent retouching the pieces from last marking period. I accomplished what I wanted in the pieces. Now I can start working on new pieces. I will begin on Monday working with the still life and text. My goal for this new project is to finish at least one piece per week. This I think will be difficult, and I will probably have to work at home a little bit.
Progress Report #1 (January 2010)
For the last week, I have spent retouching my pieces from last marking period. I have almost retouched all of them. I think that this is useful because it will prevent scrambling to get them done at the end of the year before the art show. For the weeks to follow, I want to continue retouching the art work from last marking period. This should only rake another week. After that I want to beging creating new text pieces using the still life.

Fall Semester 2009-10
Progress Report #7 (January 2010)
I have finished 7 text pieces and am on my 8th. The last 7 have been relatively small. For the next couple of pieces, I want to experiment with different types of text and different color combinations. I also want to do more size differences in the pieces. This would mean that I would have to do smaller ones that I have done before and larger ones. For the next marking period, I want to do at least 7 or 8 more text pieces. I also want to do more of the text pieces on stretched canvas. I think that this would give a good variety to the pieces that I have.
Progress Report #6 (January 2010)
In the past couple of weeks, I feel that I have accomplished a lot. I have had an opportunity to really experiment with different mediums of paints and different style of text pieces. Currently, I have about 6 text pieces. Each one is completely done. By the end of the semester, I am still planning to do two or three text pieces. Currently I am thinking of carying it over to next marking period. But, instead of making smaller pieces, I am planning to make larger ones with more detail.
Progress Report #5 (December 2009)
In my opinion, I have gotten a lot done this week. I have done 2 more text pieces on the regular canvas as well as 2 pieces on the stretched canvas. Now, I think that I should do more pieces on the stretch canvas. Also, for the next week, I plan to go back into my other pieces and finalize them. Before I continue with anymore projects, I want to finish and finalize the ones that I have already done.
Progress Report #4 (November 2009)
This week, I feel like I got a lot accomplished. For this quarter’s project, I am doing the text pieces. Originally, I planned to only have one or two done per week. This would give me about 8 by the end of the marking period. Surprisingly, I was able to finish 4 by the end of this week. All four are pretty small. Because I am ahead of what I planned, I think that I should start doing larger text pieces next week. This will give the projects a bit of variety in size.
Progress Report #3 (October 2009)
I have finished 4 houses/artist retreats. Each have a removable roof that helps see better into the house. Now, all that is left is to finish the floor plans, sections, and elevations of the last two houses. I have also started several of observation drawings. So far, I have completed 5 small observation sketches in my sketchbook. I plan to have about 10 or so in about a week or so. One other thing that I want to do in the next week or so is do a couple of larger observation drawings.
Progress Report #2 (October 2009)
So far, I have completed one of the two buildings or artist retreat. I have finish building it but still have to draw the floor plan, section, and elevation. I have almost completed the floor plan. I still have to finish the second artist retreat. This artist retreat will be for a painter. I plan to get the building done by next week and the drawings in approximately two weeks from now. If I have time, I will build and do all the drawings for a third artist retreat.
Progress Report #1 (September 2009)
Because of the late start into the class, I have not gotten far into my project. I have the designs for the two artist retreats. I have started building the first one. For the first artist retreat I have completed the base as well as have began putting up some of the walls. I expect to have that done by the end of the week. I still have to plan windows and doors for the building. The floor plan, elevation, and section I expect to have done in approximately two weeks. These will be hand drawn. After the finishing of the first artist retreat, I am planning to start the second. This should be done approximately a week after I have finished the drawings of the 1st artist retreat.
